Toyland was accepted into the 19th Hot Springs Documentary Film Festival, which takes place October 15th - 24th at historic Malco Theatre in downtown Hot Springs. It is the oldest documentary film festival in the United States.
According to the HSDFI website, "The Festival is recognized by the International Documentary Association (IDA) and the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences as one of only seven national Academy Award qualifying venues. The HSDFI screening committee views nearly 1,000 films submitted from Afghanistan to Zimbabwe, and selects 100 to be viewed each year." Director Ken Sons and I are humbled to see Toyland in such elite company.
We've released the DVD of Toyland exclusively online at www.toylandmovie.com. We're not selling DVDs in stores as we still seek a distribution deal, with the ultimate goal being to sell the film to a cable TV network. The acceptance of Toyland into the Hot Springs Documentary Film Festival brings us one step closer to that goal.
