After my book
Timeless Toys was published and the weight of actually meeting my editor's deadline lifted, I briefly contemplated doing two other books in a similar vein. The idea was to make them the same size as
Timeless Toys so that the three books would sit side-by-side-by-side on a book shelf and lure readers back to childhood. The other two books would be
Classic Candy and
Simply Soda. Problem is, I don't know anything about the history of candy and soda. If after 20 years in toys, it took we two years to research and write my first book, I shutter to think what it would take for me to educate myself on these topics and
then start writing. So the idea remains just that, one of dozens sitting idly on my computer's hard drive in a folder marked "Someday."
Jump ahead to last week when the idea resurfaced while on vacation on Captiva Island with my in laws. We stayed at a gorgeous house just a block off the beach which was decorated with vintage soda signs. Here are a few for your viewing pleasure:

I like Root Beer, what can I say? See all of them on my flickr account
HERE!My favorite soda as a kid was
Tahitian Treat. What was your favorite?
